Ravi Chugh has been a Computer Science professor at UChicago since 2014. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021 and will serve as Director of Undergraduate Studies starting July 2023.
Ravi received an NSF CAREER Award in 2017, and a Neubauer Fellowship from UChicago in 2015 for innovative and effective undergraduate teaching. Ravi obtained his Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego in 2013.

Ravi’s research interests revolve around programming language technology — program synthesis, types systems, and other program analysis techniques — to enable more user-friendly IDEs and more programmable GUIs. His teaching interests range from introductory and creative coding to advanced topics in functional programming.
